Or: Why DEVDEER now has a blog - and what that has to do with a lounge on the USS Enterprise.
If you know Star Trek: The Next Generation, you know what Ten Forward is. Not the bridge, where decisions are made. Not the engine room, where the technology runs. Ten Forward is the lounge on Deck 10, at the bow of the Enterprise. The place where the crew comes together. Where stories are told. Where Guinan stands behind the bar and offers more perspective in a few words than any strategy meeting ever could.
That's exactly what we had in mind when we started thinking about DEVFORWARD.
What DEVDEER is - and what it isn't
At devdeer.com you'll find what we do for clients: secure Azure architectures, compliance automation, AI solutions, managed services. Measurable results, real projects, actual numbers. The website is intentionally focused and lean - it's there to show who we are and what we deliver. Nothing more, nothing less.
But between what a website says and what actually lives inside a company, there's a lot of space. Opinions. Experiences. Mistakes that were made and learned from. Topics being thought through before they become a product. Technologies being tested, questioned - or sometimes openly found frustrating.
That space is DEVFORWARD.
The DNA behind it
An important part of the DEVDEER DNA has been living at codingfreaks.de for years - the personal blog of our co-founder Alex. Honest, technical, occasionally pointed. A place where you don't just talk about Microsoft technologies, but genuinely wrestle with them. Where an article can carry a tag like #ANGRY-MOOD because that's closer to reality than polished marketing copy.
That attitude - substance over optics, experience over buzzwords - is no coincidence. It's part of how we think and work at DEVDEER. And it belongs in a blog that carries the DEVDEER name.
Why now?
Because a lot is changing. Azure is evolving at a pace where even experienced teams have to actively keep up. AI is no longer hype - it's infrastructure. Compliance requirements are getting more complex, not simpler. And at the same time, there's more to say than ever before - about architectures, about teamwork, about the Microsoft ecosystem, about what actually happens in projects.
We don't want to wait until a topic is big enough to justify a new page on the website. We want to talk while we're still thinking.
What to expect here
DEVFORWARD is not a glossy content blog. Technologies will be examined in depth - not with beginner tutorials, but through the eyes of people who work with them every day. You'll read opinions, not just facts. You'll see decisions explained, not just outcomes presented.
